MONTGOMERY, RUBY MARY (NEE ROSE) Age 96, died of heart failure. Born on February 18, 1916. She passed away on Sunday, January 27th at Huron Valley Hospital. Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, William Montgomery. She is survived by her two daughters, Jean (Bill) Kecskes, Sandra (Gregg) Dibble, her son Gary (Susan) Montgomery and adopted son Paul (Anna) Reiz. She leaves five grandchildren, Mike (Jenny) Kecskes, Wayne (Sheree) Kecskes, Lynn Spitza, Michele (Dave) Caswell and Lisa (Mike) Kolanowski and six great-grandchildren Lauren Hotvedt, Nick Kecskes, Isabel Kolanowski, Andrew Caswell, Ryan Spitza and Katelyn Spitza. Her laughter and kindness will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and MANY friends. Born in Detroit Michigan, she was one of nine children born to Hattie and Theodore Rose. When her Mother passed away, Ruby became the Matriarch of her family of five brothers. She became their “go to” person … for guidance, marriage approval, an open home and always an open heart. She met her husband Bill at the Campus Ballroom in Detroit. She was a devoted wife and mother – and will always be remembered for making the Montgomery home the place to gather for Jean, Gary and Sandy’s many friends … who subsequently became “Mr. and Mrs. M's" friends also. She loved dancing, always made friends and family welcome in her home, and a cold beer was always “on tap”. She enjoyed going for boat rides …. But the thing she enjoyed most, her whole life through …. Was laughter - hers and making other’s laugh… Visitation today 3-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service, Tuesday, January 29, 2013, 11 am Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital are greatly appreciated by the family.

Sandy, I only met your mother once, but she was very nice. I will add your family to my prayers. God bless. Miss Randy Josh Emmett http://missjosh.livejournal.com
