Fr. Bob Morand was a very good friend of my brother, Bishop Ken Untener. I got to know him fairly well and considered him a friend. He will be missed!
Wonderful priest and educator - a real loss to the family Don Sarin
Fr. Morand was one of the great influences in my life. He was the first priest I got to know personally. He moderated our teen club at St. Brigid which was his first assignment as a newly ordained priest. His smile is one we would never forget. I wish I had kept more in touch with him over the years. I am sure God's smile welcomed him into Heaven and that is how we will remember him.
Fondly remembered as the last rector of St. Theresa of Avila Detroit, a loving and must loved pastor.
I am so grateful to God for Fr. Morand being a part of my life since I was attending St. Theresa School in Detroit as a child. Fr. Morand definitely lived the life of a priest, the kind of priest you which you would like to have be an integral part of your life. When a mother would come to the St. Theresa Rectory seeking help for her jailed child, Father never asked what religion she was, but asked the name of the son/daughter, what precinct were they at and how he could contact the mother after he had visited the jail. When my grandfather died, I remember Fr. Morand's kindness to my family. When he heard I had been injured in California, he called personally to see how I was and told me he was praying for me. Many of the things Pope Francis is asking us Catholics to do as far as treating each other and the poor, Fr. Morand lived his life doing. My thoughts and prayers go to the Morand family. Thank you for sharing Fr. Morand with us for all these years. Eternal rest grant unto him, Oh Lord. I only wish I was in Michigan and not California so that I could attend the services. Thank you, Fr. Morand, for the love you have showed me and mine for over 45 years,
Fr. Bob Thank you for all your blessing and your everlasting love for us And all you have done for us and being there for us. I Love you , You have been a huge part of my life and the Oubre Family. DP 4 Life
Dear Rose Morand and Family, Very sorry to hear about Fr. Bob. My dad (Ronald) and Fr. Bob were classmates at Sacred Heart Seminary and counselors at Camp Sancta Maria. Fr. Bob and Bishop Gumbleton said the mass when my dad passed away. They were great friends. Fr. Bob will always be in our prayers. I am a ex-camper of Camp Sancta Maria, I live 5 miles away from Camp Sancta Maria. I will say a special prayer for Fr. Bob this summer at camp. Peace, Joseph and Marie Prebenda Gaylord,Mi
Father Moran was a very important part of my childhood, from Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. All the wonderful football and basketball games during the 60's, with Father Moran as our "Leader" it was a safe and wonderful childhood. I will miss you Father Moran and sorry was I unable to attend the services today.
May you find peace in the Lord, Fr. Morand.
