To the family of the late Dr Martin I Apple, you have our deepest condolences and heart felt prayers. I called today to make an appointment for my Mom and me and was told Dr Apple had passed. The comment thru me so completely off, I insisted the receptionist must be mistaken and repeatedly asked her if she was perhaps referring to his father. When I finally calmed down, I apologized and made the appointments. I don't know how I'm going to tell my 84 y/o mother, she loved him dearly, and he made over her like she was royalty. He has treated our family over 20 years. He truly was the most knowledgeable, caring, compassionate physicians we had the priviledge of being under his care. Sincerely and with continued prayers for your family, Julie Sethavarangura and famly.

I just found out today of Dr. apples passing I'm still in shock. I worked for Dr. Apple for almost 2 years as his tech. Everyday working with him was going to be different. He worked really hard. Very detailed about his work. If it wasn't for him I would have never met my husband. He did LASIK surgery on anyone who wanted it from the Detroit Tigers and my husband a first base coach volunteered. He came to our office and that's how I met my husband of 2 kids. You can say Dr. Apple was our matchmaker. I'm so so sad. I lived in Texas for 12 years and came back to michigan I wanted my kids to meet him and Dr. Greeley there are so many stories I share with my kids about working for Dr. Apple. Some good and some bad but they were interesting. I once mailed a holiday card telling Dr. apple it was easier to work for him then to be a full time mom when I became a mom for the first time. Before kids I thought working for him was harder. Gosh. I'm so sorry for all your losses. I watched the funeral video and he seemed like a great dad. When he is a boss you wonder what kind of family person he is at home and it seemed like he was great. Btw he and I always checked american eye institute door locks we both had OCD.
Dr. Apple took care of my eyes for over twenty years. I loved him as my eye doctor and will truely miss him.

I only recently found out about the death of Dr. Apple and was truly shocked and saddened. He was my eye doctor, and I'm sure that I was just one of hundreds of patients, yet he always made me feel unique and remembered little personal details. My wife and I will miss his kind, patient ways very much.
I cannot believe that this vibrant and wonderful man is no longer with us. Dr. Apple performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes last October and November. I was released to go to Florida last December. My eye results were so perfect. I was looking forward to seeing Dr. Appel for a checkup when we discovered that he was gone to heaven. What a loss to everyone. I have never had such respect for a physician. He was the best!! His children have a huge role model to follow. His wife must be crushed. God be with the family. We will all miss him.
I placed a call to the Southfield location to make an appointment with Dr. Apple. I was devistated to hear of his passing. Dr. Apple had been my Opthamologist for many years. I was so choked up trying to keep from crying out loud when Sandy told me he had passed in April. Dr. Apple was an excellent doctor with a very gentle chair side manner. I have always trusted him emphatically. To know that his service was held a few blocks from my house is sad! He always smelled wonderfully and I would tell him this. My prayers are with his family and all of his loved ones. This news broke my heart today. RIP Dr. Apple.
My love and my hugs and my DEEPEST sympathies, my well wishes to his loved ones. I'm so sorry. I was a patient of his, but I also loved him.
My prayers are with your family...Dr. Apple was the epitome of "Class and Professionalism..." He was talented and so very caring too...He will ALWAYS be in a GOOD place...
