HERMAN MARY CATHERINE (SITERLET) Known as"Cookie" by her family and friends, of Holly, Michigan, was 79 when she went to her heavenly home on June 21, 2013. She is the daughter of (late) Clarence F. and (late) Margaret C. Siterlet. Mary was born at home in Oak Park on February 1, 1934. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School. Mary was married to George on January 5, 1957; they were married 56 wonderful years. Mary was a very spiritual woman with a kind and giving nature. Mary's devout faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a witty and artistic poet. Her gifts included poetry, painting, singing and playing various musical instruments by ear. A devoted wife and mother. Mary was a chic lady with a husband who treasured her. She will be missed but her spirit lives on in all of the lives that she touched. She is survived by her husband George R. Herman of Holly; three children, Renae Herman of Holly, Cynthia (Ron) Reno of Macomb Twp., and George M. (Beth) Herman of Saline; seven grandchildren, Kelli (David) Paskey, Jaymie (Mark Rivaldi) Hardman, Christopher Groulx, Andrew Hardman, George R. Herman II, Kyle Herman, and Haleigh Herman; one great-granddaughter E'lodie Rivaldi; she is survived by her sister Joan Hofsess, brothers Al Siterlet and Tom Siterlet. Mary is preceded in death by her brothers Dan Siterlet and Eugene Siterlet. Mary will be laid to rest at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. The family of Mary C. Herman wishes to thank McLaren Hospice for their outstanding support and compassion. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to McLaren Hospice (www.mclaren.org/hospice). To honor Mary her family and friends will be gathering to celebrate her life at Mesquite Creek in Clarkston on Friday June 28, from 14 p.m.
